Mary Poppins Returns marks a great way to introduce a new generation to the charms of the good old days, when family mattered above all else and fairies came to the rescue when all seemed lost, not superheroes. Unfortunately, director Rob Marshall never manages to fully justify the existence of this sequel and turn it into its own classic for the ages.
